This course introduces us to the fundamental concepts, types, and uses of library reference sources and services. It explores both print and electronic reference materials, including dictionaries, encyclopedias, yearbooks, directories, indexes, bibliographies, databases, and online information resources. Students learn how to identify, evaluate, and effectively use reference tools to meet information needs. The course also emphasizes the role of the librarian in providing reference and information services, search strategies, and ethical use of information.
